| personality: Peppy, upbeat, sassy and loves to laugh and meet people. A flirt with a heart of gold, and a knack for performance. She loves making friends, but is a little bit...in your face, and very much a gremlin . Chaotic as she is, she sticks by her virtues while dancing to the beat of her own drums - and deeply wants to support others. Her emotions, however, might make her a little bit naive in wanting so badly to help. She's comfortable in her own skin (maybe a little too much), not afraid to be silly, and often refuses to adhere to structures that don't make sense to her or that dampen her fire...and this can get her in trouble. (it certainly has, in the past.) Her mirth is genuine, but there is loneliness behind the laughter: in traveling to explore the world and make a difference, she hopes to find where she truly belongs. Yumeki believes in laughing in the face of...everything. Even her yesteryears: riddled in rejection, othering, and the yearning for belonging. It's this that leads her to enjoy entertaining others, making them feel heard, and uncovering the stories behind the names she meets. | childhood: A child of the Drake Tribe Miqo'te of the Sagolii Desert, U'yumeki was born to a mother that didn't want her: sired by a Keeper father through unknown circumstances... not of the Nunh's blood. By the grace of the twelve, she was allowed to grow up as part of the tribe: but not without being othered, especially by her own family. She's always had a naturally rebellious, quirky and outspoken personality since then, and this often led to sermons about challenging the strict desert hunter culture the U tribe so strongly kept. With the tribe's home having a hub for travelers through the Forgotten Springs, U'yumeki had a a peek into the world outside their isolated desert oasis through all the passersby that came and went: learning of different people, different races, and customs not of her tribe. This led her to explore her own abilities and interests outside of the U tribe's hunting upbringing. Her mother hated this- and frustration reached its peak at a point where she struck her child across the face, leaving a scar. U'yumeki observed the other miqo'te that wore facepaint and thought, "I'll cover this up with something pretty". At some point in her teenhood, she committed a mistake with grave consequences. Family got involved. Lives were...compromised. She took it upon herself to leave... and resolved to carve out her own place on her own in the world, and left the Forgotten Springs at the age of 18. Some say it's the only story she refuses to tell. adventuring: Now dropping her tribal letter for her own name, Yumeki took on odd jobs and learned a myriad of things to get by as an adventurer for hire. Her constant seeking of approval in her childhood turned into flirtatiousness, and at times she used this to her advantage to get information and get by. At some point through her wandering, she spotted a little one that needed cheering up...a child who, no matter what she did, could not crack a smile - up until Yumeki did a funny little dance, and played a little song for her. As the child's face lit up with laughter, so did Yumeki's heart - and she realized that it is through performance that she could support others, make her way into their hearts, make them laugh...put on as much of a show as she's ever wanted to. From here on, she picked up the ways of the bard, and eventually: the dancer, weaving songs and performances to move hearts, to express her own...and sometimes, simply because the show must go on, no matter what. |

Yumeki is naturally flirty, but know that I will NEVER assume anything will happen unless naturally established or talked about, and I will prioritize writers' comfort over all else. Ships are nice when developed but they are NOT the main or sole goal of my writing, so please do not assume. Yumeki is attracted to men and generally masc-presenting people, and not likely to entertain women or femme-presenting individuals - but this may depend on interactions. Flirting is generally welcome, but she will not respond the same to every single person - she will entertain some, reject some, possibly react negatively to others. There are standards!
